General translations

General translations are those of websites, literature, catalogs, and others. They are quoted based on a per source word rate. Delivery depends on the size of the document, as well as on the need of editing images on it or not.We are prepared to work on word, excel, powerpoint, pdf, Autocad files and others.

Technical translations

This is related to user manuals, operating manuals, equipment specs and others. It also includes the translation of scientific and academic papers. We are specializing in Veterinary Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Medicine, Engineering, IT, software localization, and others. The quote is established using the same criteria as general translations, that is, per source word.

Sworn translations

In Brazil, for a translation to be accepted in governmental entities, it needs to be translated by a "Sworn Translator". The translator is approved in a contest and is authorized to translate birth, marriage, death and divorce certificates, articles of incorporation, legal documents, and others that may need to be officially translated to Portuguese or English. The quote for this type of translations is made using the price list from the Board of Trade where the translator is registered. Our sworn translator is registered at Jucesc. The price list can be viewed at JUCESC (in Portuguese).

Simultaneous Interpreting

Simultaneous interpreting is usually made in a translation booth, almost simultaneously to the speaker's speech.

The interpreters listen to what is spoken using headsets from the venue sound system, translating it to the language of the audience, who are able to understand the messages through the receivers.

Simultaneous interpretation is recommended for medium to large events when the speaker does not speak Portuguese or the language of the audience. During a simultaneous interpretation, it is recommended to have 2 interpreters working together in a booth, but other settings can be arranged depending on the format of the event.

Note: The quote for simultaneous interpretation covers only the hiring of interpreters and does not include sound equipment, which must be hired separately. If necessary, we can help in this process, indicating reliable companies in the market, who work with all necessary equipment: soundproof booths for the interpreters, earphones, and receivers for the audience, wireless microphones for the speakers, loudspeakers, receptionists for distributing the equipment, and other services.

Consecutive Interpreting (Consecutive Translation)

Consecutive interpreting is used in short events and talks (less than two hours). In this case, only one interpreter is used, who translate what the speaker is saying. It is called 'consecutive' because the two people (speaker and interpreter) never speak at the same time. In these events, the interpreter sits near the speaker to be able to see and listen to him well. While the speaker talks, the interpreter takes notes and at previously agreed intervals, he interprets his notes in the language of the audience.

Such form of interpretation, however, takes longer and can be less efficient, since for those who understand the speaker's native language, listening to everything twice can be rather boring.

If it is a short talk, you will only need two microphones. If it is a factory tour visit, a business meeting or work as a guide, you will probably need further equipment (depending on the event and number of people involved).

The daily rate of an interpreter for consecutive interpretation is the same as for the simultaneous translation.
